The Stuff You Don't Want to Know - Unless Your Beast is Really Within !

After our first five events many runners have said they would like to do it again, so we're now planning Beacon Beast VI in 2027, along with Beastie McBeastRace (The Beastly Half!) on the same day.

Thank you to everyone who either ran, volunteered, sponsored or spectated.

Your quest is to enjoy and complete one of our very special events, either a 'marathon' or 'half' marathon distance, with the 'marathon' gaining an elevation just over 3,000 ft. along public rights of way. Everyone taking part must take their time to immerse themselves in the amazing natural terrain we have in and around Bodmin, with many varying and incredible views you will feel lucky to experience. This means that, without exception, at every moment throughout the whole adventure participants must feel privileged enough to enjoy sharing roads/pavements (sometimes narrow), tracks, footpaths, stiles and any other part of your quest to reach the end by giving way and showing respect to runners (even if not taking part in this event), along with walkers, cyclists, horse riders, vehicles, livestock and anything/anyone else you may encounter.

Anyone suspected of being disrespectful to anyone else or property will be immediately disqualified from the event and will not receive a refund.

Known hazards include - Overhanging branches, tree roots, loose gravel/stones (small and large), including a miniature Grand Canyon with those obstacles in and around it ! In wet weather bog will an additional 'fun' feature at the odd location.

Over the last 5 years the events team and the runners in the previous events, along with local event supporters, have tackled the route in varying weather conditions, continually adjusting with the H&S of participants in mind, without injury, unless you count PTSD ! (only kidding)

We have honestly enjoyed every moment of our literal journey along this route, with the many possible options explored, and genuinely again look forward to seeing both local runners and those who dare from around the UK cross the finish line with a ‘Beastly’ smile on their face.

However, if you concentrate on speed and time you are very likely to come a cropper and you will miss out on the spectacular scenery we have ensured you may see.

It would be a heinous mistake to ruin the event for yourself, other runners, medical support and the event team, so DON’T DO THAT as The Beast will hunt YOU down and it will be very, very annoyed !

For those who will give our event the respect it deserves -

"Oggy Oggy Oggy" - "Oi!, Oi!, Oi!"

‘Duw genowgh!’
