The Julie (M' Ju) Bidgway Memorial Trophy for being Over and Above for the Beacon Beast events, sponsored by RTP Surveyors (where Julie was their Practice Manager and she spent nearly 20 years with this amazing organisation she loved so much), was awarded for the first time in 2026 to Mike Barbery, the Deputy Mayor of Bodmin. In 2025 and 2026 Mike spent the majority of his day presenting medals to finishers as they crossed the line and in 2026 Mike also started both events. Julie thought Mike would be a well deserved recipient of this trophy after his efforts in 2025.
Julie was a founder member of the Beacon Beast Events Team and sadly passed away suddenly in October 2025 and her Husband Dave, also a founder member remains with the events team. She is greatly missed by everyone she knew.
