About

After our first five events many runners have said they would like to do it again, so we're now planning Beacon Beast VI in 2027, along with Beastie McBeastRace (The Beastly Half !) on the same day.

Thank you to everyone who either ran, volunteered, sponsored or spectated.

Welcome to our website which is hosted by Carlyon Systems in Bodmin (www.carlyonsystems.co.uk), who are supporting our event along with Bodmin Town Council.

We are a small team of Bodmin residents who have been working hard together since October 2020 to create a most excellent adventure for runners. You will see the sights of Bodmin, including Bodmin Beacon near the half way point. The route also takes you through the Parishes of Lanhydrock, Lanivet, Nanstallon and Cardinham where volunteers will offer snacks and drinks.

To one Events Team member the map of the route seems to form the shape of a bag pipe (he's not normal, so we humour him and ensure he's not let out on his own), which is a remarkable coincidence as this member has Scotland in his DNA (his Grandfather was a professional Goalkeeper for Hamilton Academicals F C) and would like to say the following -

1. “FAILIN MEANS YER PLAYIN”.
2. “YER A LONG TIME DEID”.
3. “KEEP THE HEID”.
3. “WHIT’S FUR YE’LL NO GO PAST YE”.
4. “LANG MAY YER LUM REEK”.

and hopefully you'll never hear this during or after our event - “TATTIES O’WER THE SIDE”.

So, if not now, make a New Year resolution to tackle our unique offering and for many years to come this will have a more significant meaning while you're singing -

"We twa hae run about the braes, and pu'd the gowans fine ; But we've wander'd mony a weary foot, sin auld lang syne."

is dòcha gum bi an fhorsa còmhla ribh

and when you need it  - " Och aye the noo "
